Hah, I love my post title. So, last year was pretty low for hip hop; especially in the realm of beefing emcees. I mean, what ever happened to the days where you came out with a track that referenced your rival’s, and then went back and forth, jacking all sorts of ill beats in the process? It seems that nowadays, it’s all about the youtube, which makes for some truly pathetic one-up banter. Joe Budden is one of my fave rappers, and to have some nobody attempt to battle him is really a disgrace to the whole culture. Jay Smooth speaks about this particular issue so eloquently in his vlog, and easily gained me as a subscriber. Word.
